Media

Every file in one place.

Images, documents, audio and video live in the site itself - no bucket to configure, no plugin to install. Upload them, find them again, edit images without leaving the admin, and use them anywhere.

Drop anywhere to upload

Drag files onto the screen, or pick them, several at a time - up to 10 MB each out of the box, and you can raise it. If a file with the same name is already there, it asks before replacing anything.

Find it again

Each file is a tile with its thumbnail, size and age. Filter to images, video, audio or documents, search by name, and sort by newest, oldest, name or size. The sidebar shows how many files you have and the space they use.

More than pictures

JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, SVG and icons; PDF, text, CSV, Word and Excel; MP4, WebM and Ogg video; MP3, WAV and Ogg audio.

Keyboard and right-click

F2 renames, Delete removes, and a right-click on any file offers everything you can do with it. Renaming changes the file's address, and the admin tells you so before it happens.

Edit images without leaving the admin.

Open an image and edit it where it is.

Crop, with the aspect ratio locked or free
Resize, rotate and flip
Colour presets - greyscale, sepia, warm, cool, enhance, sharpen, soften, invert - and brightness, contrast and saturation
Your logo as a watermark: position, size and opacity
A border, plain, mirrored or repeated
Save as a copy or over the original, as JPEG, PNG or WebP

One library, every place a file goes.

Copy address gives you the file's link. Copy for a page gives you the Markdown, ready to paste.

In the page editor, Insert > Image picks from the library. A form's image field chooses from it too, and [embed] plays your own video files.

Media is public. Everything in the library is served at /media/, including files people send through a form. Keep private documents somewhere else.

Media has its own permissions.

Reading, uploading, editing and deleting files are separate permissions, so a role can be allowed to add images without being able to delete any.

An API and two events.

/api/media lists, uploads, renames and edits files. Tools can listen for content:mediaUploaded and content:mediaDeleted to act when the library changes.
